The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Fighters Group

Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, fiends, and dark forces growing in power within the city.

Heads-up: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of heroes who will separate from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.

This warrior group features the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).

Dividing the Cast

With an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.

At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.

Reasons to Leave

For one thing, the team knows exactly where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.

The traitor then cleared his debts and escaped to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.

Personal Motivations

Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants revenge.
  • The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and warns that it is a hostile location.
  • The warrior and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to execute the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
  • Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the party enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Furthermore, The fighter swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.

Fugitives

Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:

  • The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
  • Teor is marked for death by the family.

This results in them little choice but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.

What’s Next?

From episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Explorers and Schemers groups.

Viewers can look forward to discovering which characters will be in which group in the season’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
